116 lb transformation

So here we are DURING the transformation.  I am excited that there is this HUGE, apparent, difference from August 2017 to now January 2019.  I can't wait to see the transformation that happens in the next 1.5 years.  I have eyes, I have a chin, I have a beck, I have HEALTH!   I am one day away from progressing to Food Stage 3 since VSG.  This means adding in deli meat, tuna, chicken, and really soft veggies.  I did try ham last night and it went just fine.  I tried chicken franks today in some beans for protein and it went fine so I am looking forward to eating more normal.  It is scary to try new foods because maybe it won't agree with my stomach but I want to be able to eat dinners with my family (although it will only be 2-3 oz haha). Pork and beef are off limits for now and I am OK with that.  I made a calendar with our meals for the next month and on it is scallops, cauliflower rice, zucchini, shrimp stir fry, ricotta bake with turkey meatballs, spaghetti squash t

17 days post op

Happy New Year everybody! :). I can see now that these blog post that once were days apart are probably going to be weeks apart due to my YouTube being up and running. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYkL_ZZWuw7kEq4N-IWQ4zw?view_as=subscriber Sorry but sometimes speaking is just easier than writing but I will do my best of keeping up both!  So I am almost 3 weeks out.  Getting into the fluids is getting easier, especially when I add protein powder to food and I don't have to worry about drinking the protein shakes.  Everything is slow for now, eating, drinking, walking....all slow :). It is the process though so slow we shall go!  I started a cup of coffee around 8:45 and finally finished it at 10:15.  Then I wait 30 minutes to eat.  So at 10:45 I made an egg with cheese and am slowly working on eating it.  I am not hungry....that kind of goes away with surgery so its about making yourself eat for nutritional value.  It's hard to keep eating when you don't feel like it

Liquids and surgery

Hello everyone!  Long time, no see!  I have been preparing for surgery and fighting technology, but now I am back!  So, December 13th started my two week pre op diet.  Over the course of that, I lost 14.8 pounds.  It was tough and I did have bites of some food but nothing drastic.  On the day before surgery, I had to go get Mag Citrate to clear me out.  I chose the grape flavor and I don't think the flavor would have mattered because THIS STUFF.....UGH.  It was like salty water mixed with sugar and man it was tough to get all 10oz down, but I did it.  I showed up to to the wrong entrance at the hospital and had to hurry over to the correct place; we showed up at 6:04am.  They took me back immediately to bed 2.  They took my vitals and weight, I had to give a urine sample to ensure I wasn't pregnant, and then I changed into the hospital gown.  They put feet things on me that pumped blood to help prevent blood clots as well as gave me a shot in the belly to prevent blood clots.

I am struggling with technology today so here is something fun I found reading other blogs. If there is anything you want to know that is not mentioned in these questions, just ask me below! Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed? When I lived alone, always closed, but now it doesn’t matter Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?  No, they suck Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?  No sheets except that I lay on. I get too hot for that Have you ever stolen a street sign before? Lol who would admit this! 2 week liquid diet

Today is the day!  All liquids!  Well, except for the popsicles, jell-o, pickles, and celery.  I have to get in 4 premier proteins and then at least 48-64 oz of other liquids each day.  Other liquids include: Water Diet V-8 Splash Sugar free jello Sugar free popsicles (less than 25 calories per popsicle) Fruit 2-0 Crystal light Diet Snapple up to 2 cups of broth decaf tea and coffee Propel water Powerade zero I don't really know what some of those are and yesterday when I went to look for Diet V-8 Splash to try it out, I couldn't find it so who knows.  This morning I am having 2 vanilla premier protein shakes in a thermos with my decaf coffee.  I also have a 20oz thing of water sitting here and a 32oz grape Powerade zero.  Last night I made strawberry, lemon, and blue raspberry jello, I bought 3 different sizes of dill pickles, and then I have boxes of popsicles, all different kind of broths, all different flavors of Powerade, grape Propel, and some cinnamon tea

Freezer meals

I figured since I wouldn't be eating regular meals with my family for at least 6 weeks (probably longer), and I am the one who cooks supper almost every night, I should probably prepare some freezer meals for my husband and the girls.  I did a lot of research and spent a good chunk of money to prepare some tasty stuff for them.  I only remembered to take pictures of some of them Philly Cheesesteak casserole Pepperoni pizza casserole Baked spaghetti, Baked ziti, Adult tuna noodle casserole Taco casserole Not pictured: Turkey and swiss on Hawaiian rolls Chicken spaghetti Ham and cheese potato bake Things I am still considering making Alfredo Buffalo chicken wontons Each of these meals will AT LEAST cover 2 days but will probably do 3 or more.  I also got him frozen lasagna, hamburger helper, fish sticks, frozen pizza, and chicken patties.  I made sure there was cereal, pop tarts, romen noodles, mac and cheese, and spaghettios in the house so that
