3 months + 2 days

I GOT A SURGERY DATE!  December 27, 2018 at 8am I will be having VSG ( Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy).  SO, on December 6th, I have to get labs, chest X-ray, and an EKG to ensure I am in top notch health.  I also get to talk to the doctor that day just to go over everything for like the 3rd time and I say that in the best way possible.  Nothing makes me feel better than getting as much one on one time with the man who will be doing the surgery and making sure all my questions are answered.  THEN, I have to be at the hospital at 6am on the 27th and the surgery will begin at 8am; it will last around one hour.  I have to stay in the hospital that night and then I should be able to break out the next day.  I can't drive for one week and I can't lift over 10 pounds for two weeks........EVIE!!! :(  I CANNOT wait to be blessed with this tool that will not only HELP me shed the rest of my weight but HELP me keep it off.  I still have to eat healthy and work out, but this will just be lif

Small town doesn't mean small problems

I am just going to say it, there was abuse caught at my child's day care .  Saturday, Josh was at work and he text me and said "don't let me forget I have something to tell you when I get home, it involves the police."  As soon as he got home, since he is the loudest human being on earth, I told him to be quiet because Evie was sleeping and his response was "good, you can't freak out."  He proceeded to tell me that a staff (I will refer to as 'S') was seen abusing two different children at the daycare (one older and one younger than Evie) and staff tried to turn it in to the center director (K) and nothing got done about it.  The director's responses were "she must be having a bad day" and "maybe it's her pregnant hormones" Yeah thats right, S is pregnant.  So, its my understanding that the center director didn't tell the whole stories to the families and possibly falsified some documents or left things out, so ano

18+ years of dieting

Lucky for me, my parents video taped a lot of my childhood; it was really cute, until it wasn't.  I went from a cute little blonde haired dancer to an overweight preteen in no time; I can't even pull those videos out to watch.  I don't know here the idea of dieting came from, I honestly don't know if it was my decision or not, but here is what I can remember that I have tried: Atkins South Beach Weight Watchers Slim for Life Slim Fast Neutrasystem Herbalife Sure, some of them probably helped me lose a few LBs but nothing real significant and quicker than I lost the weight, I would put it right back on.  I was always active and on the go, always playing sports, always outside, and really I didn't eat that much.  I had a doctor tell me at one point that I wasn't eating enough to keep my metabolism going.  Eventually, I went to college, and lived on my own, and money was tight, so the dollar menu was the best plan.  When I turned 21 and starting going o

These are my people

Is this really the beginning?

So I have had this blog for awhile now and its been sitting here blank ; "theres nothing here" as it tells me every time I sign it.  Throughout the day I think, OH! I should share that but when I come here to write, I draw a blank, like everything thats going on could be condensed in 3 words.  I come here because I want to share make up tips, step mom feelings, MOM stress and reality, my sweet animals, married life, and healthy living.  Since this is the first blog, let me introduce my family and myself. Josh- handsome husband :) Gracie- 8 year old step daughter Evie- 2 year old daughter Mac- shih poo (mix of shih tzu + poodle) Zoie- pregnant mini pony Sage- baby daddy mini pony 2 chickens and counting Megan- ME! I moved from KS to MO (the middle of nowhere) when I married my husband.  I have lost 78 lbs in 8 months with exercise and diet but I have done this in the past and haven't been able to keep it off.  I will talk about everything listed in the top
